We hope you’re having a lovely start to a healthy new year.
On our side, we’ve been up to our usual antics of slingin’ snacks and making sure every Tom, Dick, Harry, Tanya, Daisy and Helena have healthy snacking options on the go.
We’ve also made some exciting website changes, broken ground on new partnerships, and added new snacks to the marketplace.
We’ll be in Nashville at the National Business Aviation Association’s Schedulers and Dispatchers event next week repping the brand, handing out snacks, and honky-tonkin'.
Below is a roundup of what we’ve been up to. We’d love to hear the news from your neck of the woods, so please send us any updates you care to share.
New business partnerships
The end of 2022 into the new year brought us several new business partners who we’re proud to have joining our mission of spreading healthy snacking.
First, industry-leading Sheltair opened a brand new location in Denton, Tex…and brought their airfare snacks along. It continues to be a pleasure working with CEO Lisa Holland and her team.
We expect the new snacks at Sheltair Denton to be among the healthier things in the area since William Peters founded the private airport in the 1800s. Random fun fact—Sly Stone of Sly and the Family Stone fame was born in Denton. He probably would have appreciated some Mango Slices and PB and J Bars when visiting his hometown.
Another exciting development is our new trial at select Modern Aviation locations. The general managers at Modern Sacramento, Seattle, Denver, and Des Moines are as fired up as we are about the new snack offerings.
Next, Fort Myers Page Field Airport began offering a selection of airfare snacks in December. Our new partner that runs the airport, Base Operations, clearly has great taste, obvious from the mix of snacks they’ve selected, shown above . When flying through Fort Myers, now no one will be stranded without a healthy snack option.
Finally, Aquiline Capital Partners moved us into a new arena—private equity. Looking for a better, healthier selection for their deal-making whizzes, the office manager at Aquiline added airfare snacks to the employee lounge. We’d love to help your company level-up its snack game like Aquiline did. Let us know, and there are some free snacks in it as a finder’s fee.
New snacks
We went international in December with our addition of four unique snacks from Afghanistan. We now offer some of the traditional nuts and dried fruits straight from South Central Asia thanks to the mission-driven team at Ziba Foods. Early feedback has been strong, including from one pilot who emailed us specifically to say, “Dude, the Ziba snacks are delicious, especially the mulberries.”
We also added three new flavors from the cool dudes with beards from Austin. These replaced the now-retired Chocolate Coconut and Toasted Sesame Bars, which we let go with a tear. Our sorrows washed away thanks to the additions of Ginger Peach, Raspberry Lemon, and Almond Butter Vanilla. Give them all a try.
And finally, a teaser on some upcoming snacks. We have three newbies coming in a few weeks, and here’s a hint: they are all popular snacks from well-known brands. Unlike most big-name snacks, these are—of course—#actuallyhealthy.
New website features
And of course, we continue to make improvements to our website to make it easier to find snacks, place orders, and manage subscriptions.
Since snacking well is all about preference and health, we added another way to filter our assortment of 65-and-growing snacks. It’s now easy to sort snacks in the airfare marketplace with the "low-sodium" filter. Selecting that filter will show only snacks with fewer than 35 milligrams of sodium, which is the bar for "very low sodium content" established by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
We also added the ability to change the date of an upcoming snack shipment to add flexibility for all subscribers. From the Manage Subscription page, subscribers can simply adjust their delivery timing with the date picker tool.
We have more changes on the way. Send us your ideas or frustrations, and we’ll work on making things better every day.
