Ashley Stevens didn’t always make delicious snacks.
She was once a corporate woman. Stevens, who is from North Andover, Massachusetts, worked for The Hershey Company, and, like many in the airfare milieu, earned her stripes on the road.
Years into her corporate gig, she noticed the complete absence of easy, healthy options when on the go. “I was on the road constantly and needed a really healthy snack,” Ashley said. “So I started experimenting with a teeny dehydrator right in my kitchen.”
Over a period of five years, she developed many variations of healthy recipes at home and shared with family and friends. After lots of trail and error, she landed on three flavors to share with customers
We absolutely love all three flavors, and we're so inspired by her origin story.
Not only did Ashley have the awareness to recognize the problem, she decided to actually do something about it. And it didn’t come easy. It took a lot of grit to persist for five years to come up with a product, and even more to build a storefront—now in Middleton, Massachusetts—and create a brand.
And more admirable than her persistence is why Ashley is in business in the first place.
“We are committed to making our snacks from ingredients that are not only travel friendly, but good for you. We want to prove that just because you’re on the road a lot, it does not mean you have to sacrifice your health.”
The positive feedback from customers has kept Ashely motivated and focused on her mission.
"The most rewarding part of creating our snacks has been the positive customer interactions," she said. "On a daily basis, we receive messages and reviews from customers telling us how much they love our snacks. We actually find many customers who admit they don’t like kale or vegetables in general and absolutely love our kale chips. This is a huge motivator for us. We do what we do everyday to create healthy snacking options consumers can feel good about eating and sharing with their families."
Amen.
As it says on Earthy Krunchy's website, “Good for you. Not just better for you. Made from veggies. Not just made with veggies.” And we love that the company is “fiercely focused on creating healthy, nutrient-dense, delicious snacks.”
We know what you’re thinking. "Did did I just die and go to healthy heaven?" We had to pinch ourselves too. It turns out, we weren’t in heaven; just a Boston suburb.
Luckily, you don’t need to go to heaven or to Middleton. You can add all three of these flavors to your next airfare order and get this wonderful goodness dropped off at your door.
Now you’re in heaven.
Have a fantastic holiday weekend.

The Snacks
Ashley and her team turn the kale into chips by dehydrating it at low temperatures—115 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit—for 12 to 14 hours. “When you dehydrate it at low temperatures, you retain the nutrients, so you’re left with a crunchy chip that contains the same health benefits as the raw vegetables,” Ashley said
There are three flavors, all vegan and gluten-, dairy-, and soy-free. They each have about 9 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber in the airfare, single-serve snack size.
