Founder Poorvi Patodia is a mom of two and a bonafide snack food junkie. She created Biena because of the lack of healthy options to support her snacking obsession and with a vision of the nutrient-packed crispy chickpeas of her childhood becoming a staple snack in the pantries of Americans. She experimented in her kitchen to fine-tune the roasting process and launched the company in 2012. From its roots in a single store outside of Boston to 15,000 retail locations nationwide, Biena has shown that people want crunch and taste in a healthier way.
